What is Bazi (Four Pillars)?

The direct translation of Bazi is "Eight Characters". Why sometimes we call Bazi as Four Pillars? The reason is because each pillar consist two characters. Where do these characters come from? They are derived from the Birth of a Person(Year, Month, Day, and Time) and each of them are assigned two characters.

Why Bazi (4 pillars) ?
Bazi chart reveals the destiny of an individual and his/her future happpenings.With the help of the Bazi chart one can to some extent find his/her future and chart his/her course in the right direction.
